There is this real great slab by my house where you can catch some big barrels, I was surfing it on a big day and you cannot surf it under 4 but cannot surf it over 10 either. It was an inbetween day and I was really looking forward for some barrels because it opens right up. I am sitting out there and a big one comes in, real big for that day, I start paddling for it and then i look down and realize I have no chance of making it at all. I go over the falls and hit the bottom hard and I mean hard. Then I start getting pushed into the section of reef that is way too shallow, I am over the this section of the reef and the next wave hits and sucks it dry. I get crushed and take 2 more, Then I swim out of there and my board is all dinged up, and I go in.

8-10 ft and all over the place...not to mention frigin cold. so im trying to make it out and after maybe 15 mins of paddling and taking waves on the head i finally get past the break. maybe 2 minutes go by and a nice left rolls in and one of the few fellow surfers who made it out shouts "go for it" so i paddle for the wave and pop up, i grab the rail and pull into what looked like a possible barrell...boy was i wrong. the lip crashed on my head and i was thrown to the bottom and dragged under for what felt like 10 seconds. obviously it had to put me back into the impact zone and i didnt make it out again. so that was my only wave, but for the time i was on it it was a rush...btw cool site
