      <description><![CDATA[ya man i surfed santa teresa/malpais 2 years ago. Extremely laid back hippie-esque town in the middle of the jungle. miles and miles of powerful beach break in the head high to overhead and a half while we were there in march. great food in the town and interesting mix of culture although difficult as hell to get to. place we stayed was the monkey ??? not the best set up for breaks, quick powerful rides but pretty good]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[hey...my husband and i just took up surfing this summer...i'm a yoga teacher and that helps alot..but i'm not a super strong swimmer and find dealing with the power of the ocean quite challenging (mentally as well as physically)..the most intimidating part for me is getting caught inside and bashed about by the sea...my 50 year old body doesn't love that.
...anyway..just wondering if there are any other women out there my age learning to surf who feel the same way....]]></description>

You're absolutely right akamatack, I'm in Ft.lauderdale and its even worse, the farther south you go (closer to miami) the worse it gets.  Theyve screwed up the ecosystem down here so bad its irreparable.  The population's grown from less than ten thousand to over six million in 100 years.  This place is screwed up, I MISS MAINE!]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[I moved to south florida from Maine about a year ago and Ive seen a real swell twice.  Not to mention there will be 40 people out on even the flattest days.  I miss big clean noreaster leftovers and 5 people in the water.  Guess I'll have to live vicariously through you guys and save up money to fly myself and my board back up.  keep me happy with maine surf stories till I move back
